Lagarde said all the right things on her recent campaign-trail tour of Asia. She acknowledged that countries such as China and India deserve increased IMF voting power commensurate with their growing economic clout, and a fair shot at the emergency lending institution's top decision-making posts.

"Lagarde is a friend of India,” a senior Indian government source said. "We can't get the IMF managing director's chair for now but at least India can get some high-level appointments in the IMF during her tenure and we will work toward that.”

Perhaps the most famous chesterfield sofa is the one supposedly used by Sigmund Freud. Many experts believe that Freud used a chesterfield sofa to sit his patients down during hypnotherapy sessions. During the nineteenth century the chesterfield sofa became synonymous with psychiatry and hypnosis, and became a regular fixture in waiting rooms and treatment rooms of all kinds of doctors and therapists. There are also many different pieces of art, usually depicting nudes, sprawled across a chesterfield sofa, painted to fit in with the Freud reference.



In the book ‘A hitchhikers guide to the galaxy', the main character Arthur Dent and his acquaintance Ford use a time travelling chesterfield sofa, that drops them off in various locations throughout the space - time continuum. This sofa appears in part of the books, and radio series, although not in all versions.

In one famous scene, Arthur and Ford become sofas and are matching white and brown leather chesterfield sofas that speak using their cushions as mouths. Each is adorned with two small cushions, in the colours that the character was wearing, which give the sofa the shape of a face.

Many people believe that the television series ‘Friends' features a chesterfield sofa, however this is a myth and the sofa in central perk is a high backed sofa, whilst the ones in Monica's apartment are also high backed.

Later that same year, a choir was organized which added so much to the service. The first parish cantata was presented at the Winameg Church on Sunday evening, December 18, 1966. Mrs. Wilda Collier from the East Chesterfield Church directed the combined choirs and Mrs. Christine Tappan was the accompanist.

The minister's bizarre comments come just a week after experts said every family was going to be €600-a-month worse off as a result of the string of austerity measures.

Despite the array of financial headaches facing the public, Mr Varadkar claimed households would still have money "to take a holiday” because "it won't be all bad”.

"Incomes will remain untouched,” he said. "The only people whose pay is being cut are ministers and senior civil servants. That means incomes will be the same next year.

"You'll have to pay €100 for your house and 2pc on a new TV or fridge but that's it. That means people will be able to take a holiday, which they might not have been able to afford this year.”
