Google Maps got a new feature that can potentially draw more users. The search engine giant announced the addition of a weather layer to their Maps, which sports a grid of icons depicting the present weather conditions across an area.
This feature is activated through the drop-down menu located at the top right corner of the Maps screen, along with other layers like transit and traffic. The weather layer only shows when a user zooms out to the neighborhood level. A whole set of data points appear to show the weather conditions on the entire map. When you zoom out or in, the weather layer also scales. It’s quite a neat feature that makes the integration of weather updates more sleek and convenient compared to typing names of cities into a weather search. For a traveler, having access to weather conditions will be a cinch for they will automatically shows up everywhere along your chosen route. What’s more, Google allied with the US Naval Research Lab to show real-time cloud cover data straight to the map. This particular feature works best if you are zoomed out, because being close in it will make it difficult to tell if there are really clouds. While there are those who will certainly find use in these new features, they can be turned off if you zoom far enough of the map.

I’ve had an account in Blogger for 3 years now and everything’s been great until I woke up one day and thought the email address I’m using for it doesn’t sound too cool anymore. No one really wants the trouble of creating a brand new blog just for the sake of changing the login email (especially if it’s generating a steady amount of traffic already!). Changing email address should be easy, right? But as I soon found out, that is not the case with Blogger.

Fortunately, there’s a workaround that can be done by anyone:

1. Login your Blogger account.

2. Go to Settings > Permissions, then click on “Add Authors”.

3. Type your new email address and wait for the confirmation email from Blogger.

4. Open your inbox (new email address) in another tab/window. (You have to click on the verification link provided in the email.)

5. Back to your Blogger account, refresh the page then set your new email address with admin privileges. This will basically enable you to have the same privileges as the owner.

District administrators say they’re trying to be proactive to prevent these problems. Last year all schools started a student training program called NetSmartz, from The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. But in the event there are abuses, the district says, schools will not take them lightly.
Under the heading “parents take notice” is a warning that the district will investigate off-campus incidents where “speech and behavior” either caused a violent confrontation between students or disrupted school. Various forms of discipline would be issued.
The handbook urges parents to insist their kids show “good character” while using technology, and to refrain from “sexting” — sending sexually explicit images of themselves, or others, via cellphone or computer.
Bruce Harris, an attorney for the school district, said principals will go to various lengths to uncover proof that students have participated in harmful text messages, emails or posts on social media sites.
