ABOUT US – Strathclyde Associates Talk!

Always the resident friend-cum-counselor to everyone, I decided to widen my horizons by sharing stuff in a blog (and since I figured lots of people could be needing help and personal advices, too).

You will find here an assortment of relationship tips, how to’s, advices and such. Most of the posts here came from experience (not first-hand, sorry) so I think it’s safe to say that everyone will find something they can relate to. Though I won’t be making a career out of this any time soon, I still think having a broader audience will help, a lot.

So please feel free to read anything here and share your stories or views any time.

Arguments keep relationships healthy and motivating. Most people would suggest that you should avoid arguments if you want to keep a stronger and lasting relationship. However, without some discussions from time to time, there would be little opportunities for both you and your partner to reconcile your differences and work out your similarities. The secret is not to avoid arguments but to manage them. Below are some helpful advice on how you can manage arguments with your partner and share a blissful partnership with him/her:

Sometimes when people are furious, they tend to harm others physically which might lead to serious injury or a case of abuse. Learn to control your feelings. Most of the time being silent and keeping a space away from your partner help you reflect on the situation that got both of you in an argument.

Be open-minded and understanding. As you reflect on the situation, allow yourself to tackle your partner’s point of view. Do not dismiss your partner’s argument and accept yours as the only valid one. Remember that no two person can be exactly the same. You must learn how to value your partner’s views and opinions, and acquire the virtue of being empathetic, accepting, and appreciative.

Be forgiving. Whoever started the fight, always be in th...
